AUGUST 2019 RECAP

August started and came to an end with the gentleness of summer breezes, wisping clouds and the smell of forests ripening at the height of summer. Berries dotted the forest floors as golden light found its way past pine branches, the occasional yellowing of a leaf hinting at the season to come.

My time in Canmore was quickly coming to an end, my evenings were spent on the gravel trails that followed the river or working on creative projects. Being in the mountains had filled me with so many ideas that I couldn’t wait to get back to my studio at home to start working on larger scale projects. I knew the beginning of September was going to be full of new things for me creatively; I took the opportunity to clean and organize the studio as much as possible to help prepare me for the upcoming projects I was so excited for. It feels so lovely to have a small corner that I can call my own and have the freedom to create in.

Before leaving artsPlace I had the opportunity to design a logo for them. It was an fulfilling project and I felt it was a true celebration and momento of my time at artsPlace and Canmore this summer.

I had an incredible experience there and can’t wait to go back. A massive thank you to the team at artsPlace for being so supportive and bringing such a great facility to their community. It was an honour to be part of!

If you’d like to see the logo close up, artsPlace currently has it as part of their interactive art exhibit in their gallery space. The Space Between Moments exhibition runs from Sep 21st- Oct 24th. If you live in the Bow Valley area go check it out!

And just like that the summer has come to an end. I hope you all had a wonderful summer season filled with adventure! Wishing you all a smooth transition into autumn.
