Building Community Builds Connection

Working with diverse community members to thank and celebrate community connection with an outdoor mural. In collaboration with The Town of Canmore, The Bow Valley Connections Centre and The Royal Legion.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, artsPlace reached out to collaboratively run community workshops aiming to facilitate community connection, creativity, mindfulness, and thanking our health care workers with a collaborative mural to be installed at the Canmore Hospital.

Community Creativity Kit with artsPlace

As lockdowns started to become the norm in Fall of 2020, artsPlace asked if I would be a feature artist for their Community Creativity Kits! I obviously said yes, and with that we organized and prepared community creativity kits that would include all the needed supplies for a planned activity! Families were then directed online to their instructional video. Of course, my plan was to get children outside engaging with nature, learning to art skills, and getting some fresh air with some nature journaling!
